The Aksarben Curling Club hosts multiple bonspiels every year. The Halloween costume-themed Bone-Spiel Fun Spiel kicks off our curling season in October. We host a women's event Ladies Ice each winter to build community and grow the game among women curlers. Our club's long-running signature bonspiel, the Irish Open Bonspiel, is held every March. In April, we host the Aksarben Curling Season Championship for teams that won their fall and winter leagues. In July, we help support the Cornhusker State Games in providing a curling event during their annual summer games in July.
Cornhusker State Games—Curling
Saturday, July 29 - Sunday, July 30, 2023
Curlers can compete for the bronze, silver, and gold medals in the Cornhusker State Games at Baxter Arena in Omaha. There will be two divisions: 5&U (5 years or fewer experience) and Open (any combination of experience).
Pre-Tournament Instructions: 11:30 a.m.
Competition Begins: 12 p.m.
Registration Fees
$105 per participant until Feb. 21 (includes free shirt)
$110 per participant until April 21 (includes free shirt)
$115 per participant until June 21 (includes free shirt)
$115 per participant until July 11
While Aksarben Curling helps facilitate this event, please note that this is not a traditional Aksarben Curling bonspiel. The event is run by the Nebraska Sports Council.

This year's event will include three 90-minute games at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm. Broomstacking after the final game concludes at 7:30pm.

Aksarben Curling Season Championship

Aksarben Curling Season Championship Bonspiel returns on April 12-14, 2024!
Sixteen teams will compete to determine the Aksarben Curling 2023-2024 season champion. Eligible teams will include the champions of our 11 fall and winter leagues, our top college league team, and the 2022-2023 season champion team. Three spots will be reserved for wild card lottery teams.
Teams that win their fall or winter league must have at least 2 members from the team that took part in the league to qualify. In the event that a team wins its fall and winter league, the team will clinch its spot via the fall league and the winter league runner-up will earn a bid into the championship.
