2026 Season Championship

Sixteen teams will compete to determine the Aksarben Curling champion from the 2025-2026 season. Eligible teams will include the champions of our 12 fall and winter leagues, our top college league team, and the return season champion team. Two spots will be reserved for wild card lottery teams.

Rules

• Players must have membership dues paid for the 2025-2026 season.

• Teams that win their fall or winter league must have at least 2 members from the team that took part in the league to qualify. If a player is on two teams that qualify, the player must choose one of those two teams to play on.

• In the event that a team wins its fall and winter league, that team will clinch its spot via the fall league and the winter league runner-up will earn a bid into the championship.

• If the returning season champ ("Team Aksarben") wins a league, then that league's runner-up will earn a bid into the championship.

• A lottery will be utilized to draw teams for Wild Card spots. Lottery entries will open on March 19. Teams can receive additional bids in the lottery based on their single best finish, as follows:
  
  • Request Lottery Entry into bonspiel: receives 1 ball / bid
  • Best finish in Playoffs or Top 4 (if not playoff league): receives 2 balls / bids
  • Best finish Runner-up (or 2nd place if no playoff): receives 3 ball / bids

  
  Teams will have a maximum of 3 balls / bids. Additional lottery spots may become available if automatic qualifying teams are unable or elect not to participate.

• Curlers may not enter the lottery with more than one team.

• Teams still in contention to win a Winter League are encouraged to submit an entry as a contingency. Their entry will be disregarded if they win their league.

• Teams that have accepted their invitation or won their spot via lottery will receive the registration password.

• League Champions are based on the criteria set forth at the beginning of each league.
