Aksarben Curling hosts multiple bonspiels every year. The Halloween costume-themed Bone-Spiel Fun Spiel kicks off our curling season in October. We host a women's event Ladies Ice each winter to build community and grow the game among women curlers. Our club's long-running signature bonspiel, the Irish Open Bonspiel, is held every March. In April, we host the Aksarben Curling Season Championship for teams that won their fall and winter leagues. In July, we help support the Cornhusker State Games in providing a curling event during their annual summer games in July.

March is International Women’s Month, and we’re hitting the ice to celebrate! Join us for a special session dedicated to our girls, women, and non-binary curling community. Let’s sweep away the barriers and enjoy some great game-play and social time together.
We'll meet in the Holland lobby at 11:15 for introductions, then hit the ice at 11:30 to set up and play a game with your new curling friends from 12-2pm! Afterwards, we'll broomstack together at Set the Bar - Omaha's home for women's sports.
Aksarben Curling Members can join this event for FREE, and it's just $20 for ladies who aren't members. We will not be doing a Learn to Curl with this event, so everyone who signs up must have either taken a Learn to Curl or have prior curling experience.

Aksarben Curling Season Championship

Aksarben Curling Season Championship Bonspiel returns in April 2026!
Sixteen teams will compete to determine the Aksarben Curling champion from our 2025-2026 season. Eligible teams will include the champions of our fall and winter leagues, our top college league team, the returning champs, and wild card lottery teams.

Cornhusker State Games—Curling
July 10-11, 2026
Curlers can compete for the bronze, silver, and gold medals in the Cornhusker State Games at Baxter Arena in Omaha. Curlers will compete in one Open division (any combination of experience).
Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three teams.
While Aksarben Curling helps facilitate this event, please note that this is not a traditional Aksarben Curling bonspiel. The event is run by the Nebraska Sports Council.
