We're hosting a social/informational meet-up on Thursday, July 24 at 7pm at Pauli's Lounge for any teams participating in the MACA Arena Playdowns in August. (Teams are under no obligation to attend. Feel free to just send a representative if you wish.)

 

We thought it would be a good opportunity to go over some of the general rules of playdowns events, the pre-event practice that will happen on Thursday, August 7 (10 minutes practice on all 6 sheets), and the pre-game practice (9 minutes) + pre-game Draw Shot Challenge (used to decide hammer and for tiebreakers).

 

Regarding the pre-event and pre-game practice, we'll have some folks who can describe general strategies for using that time effectively. We'll have some time to take questions. Nic Ridder can also inspect brooms and pads if you have any questions about what is WCF-compliant.

 

While all teams will have a pre-event Team Meeting going over rules on Thursday, July 7 before pool play begins, we thought this would be helpful in case people have questions and to share strategies and best practices before you're "in" the event itself.

 

And, it'll be a good time just to have a beverage with your fellow curlers!
