Newcomer Instructional League & Learn to Curls

This 4-week league will take place on Sundays at 12:00 PM starting September 6.
Our two-hour single-session Learn to Curls typically will be offered on Sundays at noon in the fall.
Shake off the dust at our September Tuesday 7:45 pm and September Sunday 2:15 pm leagues!

If you want to get a head start on curling or 'shake off the dust' from the off-season, then our short 4-week September Tuesday 7pm or September Sunday 2:15pm leagues are just for you!
We're offering a September League on Tuesdays at 7:45 pm starting September 1 and Sundays at 2:15 pm starting September 6.
Fall Leagues

We're offering at leat six leagues during our Fall session. Leagues will take place:

- Fridays at 7 pm: 9 weeks starting Oct 2

- Sundays at 2:15 pm: 10 weeks starting Oct 4
- Sundays at 4:30 pm: 10 weeks starting Oct 4
- Sundays at 6:45 pm: 10 weeks starting Oct 4
Priority registration for Winter 2026 league participants opens on Saturday, August 1 and runs through Wednesday, August 12. Individuals who participated will receive information about how to register and keep their spot.
General registration opens on Saturday, August 15 at 10am. Due to high demand and limited league space, our general registration period will begin with a lottery. Nearly all of our leagues are coming out of priority registration with just 2-6 spots available, and the Aksarben Curling Board of Directors has opted to use a lottery process to prevent the leagues from overfilling.
The following leagues will open via a lottery on Saturday, August 15th at 10am:
- Sunday 12 pm
- Sunday 2:15 pm
- Sunday 4:30 pm
- Sunday 6:45 pm
- Tuesday 7:45 pm
- Friday 7 pm
Lottery entries will be collected via a google form that will be sent out on Saturday and will be accepted through Monday, August 17th. On Tuesday, August 18th, we will draw entries and contact curlers to accept their spot. If leagues do not fill during the lottery, they will move to open registration for any remaining spots on Thursday, August 20th.
You may sign up for the lottery as a full team, partial team, or free agent. You will receive as many entries for the lottery as you have people committed to your team, but there is a chance, depending on where your team is drawn, that we will not be able to accommodate a full team. In that case, you’d be asked to decide whether you wanted to take the available spots or pass on the league.
You may join the lottery for multiple leagues, and will have the chance to rank them based on preference.
We finished our 2025-2026 season at an all time high for membership (over 325 curlers strong!), and are thrilled to see continued growth in this sport in our area. Thank you for your patience as we work through the challenges of finding a place on the ice for everyone who wants to join a league.
If you have questions about how the lottery process will work, please reach out to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Note: Playing in leagues requires a 2025-2026 season membership (September-August), which covers the cost of club equipment, insurance, free member events and practice ice, and free subbing privileges.
Simply select the appropriate membership from our website's event registrations page, add it to your cart, and check out:
