We're so excited for the the upcoming 2022-2023 curling season kicking off in September! We have a lot of energy and new members coming out of last season after the Olympic Trials in Omaha and the 2022 Winter Olympics. Here's a preview of our upcoming season:
Fall Newcomer League & Learn to Curls
Our Newcomer League at the beginning of the season is a great way to learn how to curl, play full matches with other new curlers, and get assistance from our friendly instructors who provide guidance along the way.
This 4-week league will take place on Sundays at 2:15pm starting September 11.
It’s a great way to dip your toes into curling!
Our two-hour single-session Learn to Curls typically will be offered on Sundays at noon. Watch our Event Registrations page for opportunity to Learn to Curl!
Pre-Season September Leagues
If you want to get a head start on curling or 'shake off the dust' from the off-season, our short 4-week September Leagues are just for you. We're offering September Leagues on Tuesdays at 7pm starting September 6 and Sundays at 4:30pm starting September 11.
Fall Leagues
We're offering five leagues during our Fall session. Leagues will take place:
- Tuesdays at 8pm (12 weeks starting Oct 4)
- Fridays at 7pm (6 weeks starting Oct 7)
- Sundays at 2:15pm (9 weeks starting Oct 9)
- Sundays at 4:30pm (9 weeks starting Oct 9)
- Sundays at 6:45pm (9 weeks starting Oct 9)
Registration will open on Saturday, August 13 at 10am. We're asking curlers to register for just one league until Saturday, August 20 when you can signup for an additional league. We had a lot of new curlers join us this last season and we want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to join a league this fall.
Note: Playing in leagues requires a 2022-2023 season membership (September-August), which covers the cost of club equipment, insurance, member events, and free subbing privileges.

College Curling League
We're excited to see not only the return of the UNL Curling Club and the Creighton Curling Club, but also the formation of the new UNO Curling Club! Our competitive College Curling League will return on Sundays at noon over a 13-week period starting October 2.
Youth Curling
Our Youth Curling program will return in January 2023. This year's program will take place over 7 weeks on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm beginning January 7 and ending February 25.
The cost for the entire program is $100 (includes youth membership and program cost) or $50 for just the program (if youth membership is paid separately.

Bonspiels
We've got a good mix of casual and more competitive bonspiels in the works for this upcoming season. No matter your level of competitiveness, all of our bonspiels have a strong social component!
Friendlies
We have two Friendlies scheduled with neighboring clubs:
- KC Curling / Aksarben Curling Friendly: Saturday, August 20
- Aksarben Inter-Club Friendly: Saturday, September 17 (Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Sioux Falls, Yankton)
The Bone-Spiel Fun Spiel
Our annual fall fun spiel offers fun, costumes, and prizes with broomstacking afterward. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Prizes will be awarded to the best individual and team costumes (Check out some of the costumes from 2021). Individuals are welcome to register — we'll help connect you with a team!
Registration for the Bone-Spiel opens Saturday, September 17.
The Irish Open Bonspiel
Our signature annual bonspiel, the Irish Open, returns March 17-19, 2023!

Aksarben Curling Championship
We're planning to host an intraclub championship on April 15-16, 2023. This will be a new event geared toward determining the best team from the 2022-2023 season.
